About Shadow Duel

Shadow Duel is a one-on-one ninja fighting game with an ink-and-moonlight visual style. Two players can compete using one keyboard or two gamepads, while solo players can face AI opponents on three difficulty settings. The combat emphasizes reading an attack, defending against it, and choosing a good moment to strike back. A well-timed guard can become a parry, opening an opportunity for a counterattack.

The roster includes thirteen ninjas with different weapons, kicks, and ki techniques. The source describes katanas, twin tanto, staffs, war fans, and other fighting styles. Weapons can be knocked away, leaving a fighter to use punches and kicks or recover a dropped blade. Seven arenas add environmental hazards and obstacles that can influence positioning during a duel.

Player one uses A and D to walk, W to jump, S to guard, and separate keys for light attacks, heavy attacks, kicks, shuriken, dashes, and ki techniques. Player two has a separate arrow-key and keyboard control set. Use the tutorial or training to learn a fighter before challenging a friend. Try guarding after an attack instead of continuously pressing offensive buttons, and watch the arena as well as the opponent. Good defensive timing and awareness can turn a difficult exchange into a useful counter.

Tips to win

  • Guard after attacking and practise the timing of a parry before trying to counter immediately.
  • Watch environmental hazards and your weapon position instead of focusing only on the opponent’s attacks.
