About Checkers

Checkers brings a familiar board game to one shared screen. Choose Play vs Player and select English checkers for a local match on an eight by eight board. Both people take turns using the mouse: select a piece, look at its available destinations, and click the square where you want it to move. The large board and contrasting pieces help keep the two sides distinct.

Capturing is central to the game. A legal jump removes the opposing piece from the board and updates the capture count. The active side changes after an ordinary move, while highlighted squares show the choices available for a selected piece. Before advancing, check whether your opponent can jump over the piece you are about to move.

The opening moves, turn changes, and a capture have been checked with both sides controlled on the same device. A complete match, promotion to kings, and the other rule variants have not yet been tested. An advertisement can appear before the game starts; use its close button when available to reach the board and begin your local game.

Tips to win

  • Check the highlighted destinations before committing to a move.
  • Look for an opposing piece with an empty landing square beyond it when planning a capture.
