About Traffic Overdrive
Traffic Overdrive combines arcade highway driving with a garage of cars to unlock and customize. The local two player option lets two people race on one computer using separate keyboard layouts. Player one drives with WASD, while player two uses the arrow keys. This local setup is distinct from the mobile driving controls offered for touch screens.
Accelerate with W or the up arrow, brake with S or the down arrow, and steer with the matching horizontal keys. Choose a vehicle, traffic density, weather, and mode before starting. Camera and pause buttons adjust the presentation or stop the action. Nitro is an upgrade that must be purchased before it can be used, with Shift listed in the desktop controls.
Close overtakes and completed challenges provide money for the garage. The available modes include Crash, Time Trial, Bomb, and Endless. In Bomb mode, close passes add time, while Endless allows recovery after a crash so the drive can continue. Rain, darkness, vehicle handling, and the amount of traffic all affect how much room you have to react. Begin with readable gaps and measured steering, then take tighter passes when you understand the car and have a clear exit lane.
Tips to win
- Leave an exit lane when attempting a close pass through traffic.
- In Bomb mode, use close overtakes to extend the timer without losing control.
